I f you are unhappy with who you are then no, money can't change that. If you are unhappy because you can't pay your bills then yes, money would buy you (temporary) happiness.

Money buys material stuff. A person cannot live without money, because the basic needs of a human being must be purchased and paid for. On the other hand, money gives you the possibility to do certain things, the things that you want. Money brings you freedom, in a way. But happiness... is a non-material concept. Happiness lies within oneself. Even if you have all the money in the world, you can be unhappy. That's because happiness is not brought by the material stuff, but by the spiritual things. Happiness means to have someone to share your life with, to love and be loved, to have good friends that help you when you are down. Happiness is to see a beautiful flower, to smell it... to see a deer in a forest. The utmost happiness is to give. When you receive something, you feel pleasure. Happiness is when you give something to someone, and see that that person feels good or happy.
Money brings you the freedom and the possibility to do whatever you want (almost). But you have to know how to be happy; it is something that lies within yourself.

Happiness and pleasure are different feelings.Happiness comes even if you buy a new shirt or a ticket for a newly released film.Pleasure means happiness with satisfaction.Satisfaction comes if only you achieve something which you have in your inner thoughts.Money may bring happiness but for pleasure it is doubtful.

I think money can buy some aspects of happiness only, I mean in the form of material, concrete products, some mansions, etc. But from what we have or own, such said things do not guarantee happiness. The happiness we need to acquire from our mind within. In sum, I agree with you the money can buy some pleasures and forms of happiness, not happiness itself.

happiness is a state of mind. In today's materialistic world if to have a tv, a car, a mobile, a big house, is happiness then , yes we do need money to buy happiness. But here is the catch. Even after getting all these things, you can still be unhappy.

According to the Buddha ' Desire is the cause for all sufferings.'With more money our wants and greed will only increase. We will be running after money. Safeguarding our wealth will rob our time and enjoyment of other worldly pleasures . We will be like the members of 'club 99' till we reach the target of earning the100 we will not rest. Money is essential in today's world , so that we can lead a normal and decent life . Money should give us the comfort and pleasures not pain and greed.

When you have pleasure, doesn't that mean you are happy? Money can buy happiness to some extent. It depends on how one uses the money.

My definition of happiness is the process in which we repent, be forgiven, and go to heaven after we die.
My second definition of happiness is simply "heaven" itself.
As a result money can not buy my happiness, but, without money, we die quite quick. We need time to grow and repent, so money is also quite important.
