Ok my mom wears sweats, a sweatshirt, her hair in a bun, socks and an old pair of slippers

Im so embarrased when she comes to pick me up or drop me off or when someone says I met your mom this weekend! What do I do I talked to her yet she says that she doesn't have enough money or doesn't have the time. She always says my dad died why should she look nice! Hello social suicide!!!!

would you rather have a pretty mom who wasnt concerned with you at all.
learn to look beyond looks n appreciate people for their qualities.
you are so lucky to have a mom who loves you.

Did you try to help her look into her wardrobe? Give her a helping hand when choosing clothes in the wardrobe. Her fashion sense might have faded away but you can help her re-kindle back the fashion fun. Although your Dad has passed on, she should think that life still goes on and she will feel better if she dressed better. Just try this and see. All the best.

How your mother looks or dresses really doesn't reflect on you. Everyone's parents are embarassing in some way or another, but why do we even think about that? My sons never brush their hair, and I'm not about to do it for them, so I simply don't offer to take them with me when I go out. If they really want to go with me, they know I won't take them unless they at least attempt to brush their hair, so they either do it or stay home. Just take the bus to avoid the embarassment. Don't bring friends home. She'll either take the hint, and clean up a little, or not. Either way, you win.

Aw, poor baby! The woman who keeps a safe home for you, who probably wears cheap clothes so she can afford to clothe you decently, who makes sure you have food to eat, who drives a used car that still gets you where you need to go isn't good enough for you to be seen with! You want her to wear Dior and drive a Mercedes so you look better? GET OVER IT!

Write a letter to the show "What not to wear" She'll appreciate it...or donate some of your $ for her clothes...I have both my dad and my father in law wearing my old clothes, and they look much better than they did before! I always try to buy them new clothes that they wouldn't normally buy for themselves.

why not just love her for who she is and not who you want her to be?
you could always take her shopping and treat her to a new haircut, etc. be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
