Use the question about the stars - it actually sounds intelligent.
First, tell the class what a star is. People know there are stars in the sky - but they dont know what it actually is.

Second, Then tell people what kinds of stars there are - some of the stars you seen in the sky maybe planets. The closest star is the sun.
Third - Tell your class why we can see them in the night sky. Why are stars so bright?

I don't know if you are suppose to make something up or just report on what myths there are.... but I have always found some of the american Indian myths to be fascinating...how the possum lost his bushy tail, etc.

I love your ideas!! Ive always wondered myself why men have beards. I always wondered about the soul. Everyone has one and when we physically die it lives on. So when we are alive where is it? Where is it in us? Is that what the spleen or the gallbladder is for? To hold our soul? Then what happens if we have our spleen and gallbladder removed? If its not in there, then WHERE is it? I can go on. Its something you might not care about but I wanted to share that with you. GOOD LUCK on your essay!!

well, why not the Pendulums? heres some Ideas for it.
why do they use it? how it came to be? what do they use it for? for your work...search the web for "Pendulums" there are tons out there.
you'll get an B or an A for it cause it's something new and no one ever thought about it but you :)
