I've heard a rumor that you can feed plecos certain types of vegetables like cucumbers and stuff. Can anyone verify this for me?

Yes you can feed this. It may take them a while to realize it's food if they haven't had it before. I'd also either freeze it a while or cook it a few minutes to soften the cell walls and "tenderize" it. Take out anything that's not eaten by morning (feed at night).

maximum definately. U mentioned that the food is 4 catfish and different backside feeders......properly, a pleco is the two a catfish AND a bottomfeeder, so this could be a gr8 food 4 ur fish. If u learn ur pleco, u'll be conscious that his/her mouth is became in direction of the backside. it is 4 ingesting the meals on the backside of the tank, subsequently making it a backside feeder. celebrate with!

Plecos will eat certain types of vegetables as long as they're not salty (i.e. canned).

Attach it to a chip-clip so it sinks and makes for easy removal before it decomposes.

It's true, but not all plecos will like them. Algae wafers are the best, it has all the nutrients needed to grow to be healthy large fish.

Nearly all of my fish (not just the plecos) love frozen peas.

Veggies like cucumber, zuchinni and leafy lettuces (not iceberg) are all valid sources of fresh nutrition for them. Just try different things and see what yours likes.
