realestate.com.au is a good site for looking for accommodation.
I'd recommend you contact some of your Indian friends already living here and ask them to share for a while. It's unlikely that a total stranger will let you share his house without meeting you.
Another alternative is to get a low cost hotel before you come here and stay in that hotel for a week until you sort out some permanent accommodation.
