first of all, he's not immortal so the comic people decided to make it seem "more real" and kill him.
second of all, they are trying to imply a statement. Take it figuratively. AMerica + sniper= dying. Does it seem to have rung a bell?
I think they are saying that America (the country itself) is dying...Morality wise etc etc...

First of all, he's not dead. In "Civil War: The Initiative" published the SAME DAY, Ms. Marvel says "He's tucked away safe on the raft. No one knows. No one. They're trying to save his life even as we speak." My guess is the Super Soldier Serum will keep him going.
This was a terrific way for Marvel to get some media coverage and increase sales (for now, anyway). And for you speculators out there, Marvel printed so many copies of this issue that they will probably be cheaper than toilet paper in a couple of months.

Civil War is a big event.....it's expected that someone important would die, and it adds a lot to the comic when the good side actually do take heavy losses.
I just don't agree with the way he died.

because cap had to die sooner or later, he's still human after-all. Probably they wanted him to die so that there could be another thriling event in the marvel universe, kinda like civil war! But they would probably revive him or something like that, or they could put like a super memorial for him there.

they have to get comic book collectors to buy the comic book and in doing it this way it gets talked about everywhere from newspapers to television to celebrities who can't get enough of it. i'm pretty sure that captain america will come back to life but as someone else just like superman did.
