I'm a South African now living in the UK. Came out when i was 19 in SA and now as i look back and compare all of that to how i live now....
South Africa is NOT AS BAD as everyone thinks. I was very active in the lifestyle there and never had any problems with idiots teasing me about my orientation... probably because i had a big mouth and put most people in their place.
So Zama, you just live the way you want to and dont worry about all those homophobes.... they are all just bored living their pathetic little hetero lives.

I doubt anybody abroad will know much about South African gays. It's the American stereotype we (and they) see on TV. Only us South Africans can share an opinion with you I'm afraid. And there are so many different "varieties" within our gay culture that that opinion will vary from place to place. (Like Benoni vs Dainfern)

So do i, but everyone feels the same about them everywhere, it is not really accepted, iguess the general response is :
"kyk daai moffie", or "is jy gay huh?"
i know being gay is hard, but being canadian and gay - shame - for the guy above me.
