Is it possible that another country could actually hit the continental United States with a nuclear bomb? I can't figure out how they could be attacked by a nuclear device unless it were brought to their own shores, can you?

I would say yes the United States could be hit, mind you the U.S. has different safety precautions to detect when something is shot at them and they would more than likely be able to shoot it down before it got anywhere close, at least that is what the national defence States they could do.

ANYTHING is possible these days. But I personally feel that the chances of a nuke being launched from another country would NOT be successful in reaching us. We have a wonderful defense team.

They could hit either coast at this time. We don't have nearly the defence programs that we had under Reagan. I suggest you quiz the candidates before the election. EXCELLENT question.

Sure, why not? It's how we dealt with Japan back in WWII. What's so far-fetched about someone else doing the same with us?
