Norton's is a powerful virus protection that constantly scans your computer and that why a lot of people put it down and don't like it.... so the only way to stop it from running on your computer is to delete it all together which isn't a good idea unless you have or are going to install another anti-virus.

There are 3 options:
1) Uninstall it (Start... Control Panel... Add/remove Programs).
2) Turn Off on Windows Start Up (Start... Run... MSCONFIG... Startup Tab... Uncheck Norton Software... Restart PC... Uncheck utility message.
3) Open Norton Software... Go to Properties or Preferences... Uncheck Options of Scanning and Windows Startup

download avast antivirus to you desktop and uninstall norton if you need a free firewall download sygate they can both be downloaded from www.download.com

goto Start....then Run....then type msconfig...
goto startup tab and uncheck the box for norton,
then click apply,,,,then ok,,,,,then reboot.
