Your information provided is very sparse so it's hard to give you any advice without much to work on.
If you turn the motor over and it cranks very fast or uneven apart from it trying to start, would be a blown head gasket.
It could also be a fuel problem (I'm assuming you have fuel in the tank) a fuel filter blockage or a fuel pump problem. I'm assuming the car is has fuel injection here. Turn the ignition on and see if you can hear the whine of the fuel pump activating. If it isn't it could be the fuel relay.
If you can hear the fuel pump, squeeze the flexible pipe going to the injector rail or central injection unit. If you can squeeze it, it's probably a fuel filter, if it's hard you have fuel there and it's something else.
Just a couple of thoughts on what it may be.

Dozens of possibilities but the worst case is a siezed motor. How is the oil and coolant? Another may be broken timing chain and belt. In either case things could be expensive.

Are you sure the battery is good? If flat, it may not have quite enough to turn the engine.

But, the same thing happened to my father umpteen years ago. Engine stalled near the end of a 20 mile run. Could not restart. I went to pick them up. After half an hour the engine started and ran OK. We never found out what the cause was, but Dad got a new car a few months later.
