During the last month of pregnancy, the baby gains weight and the lungs develop more fully. Every day that you carry it insures a better outcome. Most babies born a month early will survive, but they may need special care in a pediatric intensive care unit. Even though their birth weight is okay, they still have to be watched for breathing problems and feeding issues. It can get very expensive if a baby is placed in a PICU.
Don't rush it.

well most of the time a baby born after 26 weeks has a chance now 20 -30 yrs ago they dint have all the meds they do now... most of the time docs can stop labor till the due date if not.. they can give the mother seriods that makes the babys lungs a little better.. but most of the time the baby will be fine and jsut need to stay in the hossy till the due date to make sure it can breath and eat and pass urin and other waste by its self

I am sure your baby will be okay, I have heard of babies being born much earlier than that and come out just fine. may need to stay in the hospital for a bit. Overall they will be fine. My friend had her baby born six weeks early and she is now a very healthy 10year old. Medicine is much more advanced now.

Babies have lived and grown up into happy children and adults after being born in their 7th month. There should be absolutely in being born one month before the due date!

In most cases the baby would be fine. Sometimes they still need to be on oxygen for a few hours or they have a little trouble eating small stuff like that.

It depends on how far along you are. On BabyCenter it says that there is a 99% survival rate for babys born at 34 weeks and up.

I was born 6 weeks early weighing in at 3lbs. My left lung wasn't fuuly developed. I was in three different hospitals, 2 ambulances, and a helicopter. I barely made it. But thanks to a great team of doctors, I came through. I gained enough weight to come home about 7 weeks later. I came home on MOTHER"S DAY. (mom's favorite holiday)
