First thing you gotta do is to buy sneakers that fit your feet just right. And this means both in length and in width. It can be tricky but from my experience, mesh type material rather than leather gives me best fit. plus the style of the shoe really matters, not in how it looks but how well it hugs your foot.
Then you have to buy nice socks. Those with arch support (like bands along the arch of the feet) hold your socks closer to your feet evenly and not crumple around the toes. Tube socks are terrible. never use them for long walks.
Try shopping for lightweight running shoes and socks. They may be a bit more expensive, but you'll end up saving more by investing on good shoes, then buying lots of others that don't fit you well.
Another important thing is to keep your feet dry. Use foot powdr if you need to. Moisture makes feet blister faster.
Happy walking.

There are quite a few important factors that you really need to consider. You must must buy shoes that fit your feet. some people have very broad feet (wide in the front) if you are such a person, take that into consideration when buying your next pair. it would not hurt to stick with that particular brand or company. you also have to ensure that your shoes are not too loose on your feet, this is one of the major reasons why people have blisters (loose shoes) If you are walking for an hour or more, take an extra pair of socks with you. change out your socks at your turn around point. sometimes our feet sweat (some more that others) if your feet are wet, it's much easier to get a blister........so keep then dry. use foot powder to help keep them dry also.
stay motivated.....keep walking

well, if you are in doubt, try wearing one size larger than smaller. or, you can just weaer them at home with no socks, because (ok, it sounds weird, but it works) the sweat that comes out of your feet actually helps to soften the sneaker material, making you less prone to blisters when you walk. also, if this happens all the time, go see a podiatrist. lastly, you should try wearing non-mesh shoes, because those are generally more comfortable (for people like me, of course). oh, and remember to break into your shoes (sweat in them) before attempting movement, such as walking a mile. This advise, of course, is only useful if you are not fussy about wearing shoes without socks.

when i play basketball or soccer, i would double sock it.
that solves all the blister problems, and when your feet get a little sweaty, then i would get some tinactin or desenex to avoid athletes foot.
