I downloaded 12 megs Of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. It says 1-5 season. The first two seasons are Justice League and they have 26 episodes a piece. But then on third season it changes to Justice League unlimited and then its only like 13 episodes a piece. I found that Hawk Girl just left and then returns at the end of season three. But I don't understand why she left in the first place. Are these two animated series the same one? Or are Justice League and Justice League unlimited two different entities? Thanks

Justice League focused on the core 7 heroes. After the events of Starcrossed (season 2 season finale) they realized they needed more help than just who was on their team. So, they decided to open their recruitment to become Unlimited.

Because of her ties to the events of Starcrossed, Hawkgirl steps down from the League, before they vote on what should happen to her. She is seen throughout Season 3 (or 1 of Unlimited) trying to find her way.

Some of the shift was mandated by Cartoon Network. They did not like that every episode was an hour or some even being 90 minutes, so the new season, or first Season of Unlimited was made up of shorter episodes, that did not necessarily tie together (except for Season 4 and 5 being part of a Season Long Series).

So, they are different shows, but they are basically the same series, and some people lump them together as one show. However, they were very different in their focus, as the first 2 seasons were limited the core 7, and a very few extra DC Characters, and it was not until unlimited that we see the return of some previous characters (Supergirl, Green Lantern Kyle Rayner) and the first appearances of many characters (Captain Atom, Question, Green Arrow, etc.)

They both are part of the much larger Animated DCU, and officially end the entire series (From Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, Zeta Project, Static Shock, etc.).

Yes and no. Depends on who you ask. Justice League unlimited is a continuation of the Justice League story. There is a big difference, because the main character has shifted. If you want story lines or more information, Wikipedia has a lot on it.
