A very low percentage of those with an interest in music go on to earn their livelihood from it, so your sister is advising you well. If you devote your spare time to music, when you get older, you may be one of the lucky ones who are successful in that field, but at least you will have something to fall back on, if you don't.

You are young yet and there is nothing wrong with liking music and having interest in space at the same time! as you get a bit older and are more mature, you can choose better what you wish to pursue.Keep your mind open to all opportunities and you will have a better idea of the direction to take as a carreer and what you love to do as a hoby. Is music is in your heart; follow your instinct for now and enjoy it. Of course do not forget your interest in space. You must be about 13 years old so enjoy your youth for now! It will never come back! Both of your choices demand a lot of dedication if you want to succeed. Nothing will be brought to you on a silver platter without working hard and focussing for success! No matter what your choice will be. I wish you the best and keep music in your thoughts. It's good for the soul! But do not let it control you! You might be a star yet; either down on earth with music, or out in the universe as an astronaut! Dreams do come to reality if we work at nourisshing them and do not give up on them!
Best of luck and persecerance to you! Be positive in whatever you think. It will help.

At your age I'd stick mostly with interest in music and your band. However, keep your astronaut goal and work hard in school, especially in those subjects that will help you become an astronaut...math, science, physics, computers, astronomy, etc.,.

Listen to your sister, she is right.
"i want to become an astronaut only"
You've said it yourself. So, put music as a hobby and concentrate on science.

You can do both. Brian May (Queen's guitarist) has a PhD in astrophysics and I've met lots of astronomers who play musical instruments. My son's studying astrophysics at university and he plays musical instruments and sings in a band - he's finding his studies take more and more of his spare time now, but you've still got plenty!

There should be time enough to do both. I did a musical instrument at your age, and also pursued my interest in electronics.
