I would say it depends on the woman, but yes, it does seem that most American women love an English or Australian accent. Friends of mine were constantly asking me if my hubby had a "cool accent" because he was originally from the U.K.

Sadly.... yes, we are cheap like that. Then again, an Italian accent gets you even further. My Italian professor was by no means hot but every woman in class was in love with him.
It is not to the extent that is portrayed in the movie "Love Actually," but it is generally true (I just had this conversation yesterday...). I think that the assumption is that Brittish men are more charming than American men. If your accent is softer, it will get you farther as well. A harsh, edgey cockney accent may not be as endearing.
** In re-reading this, I think I should specify that "getting further" does not imply anything sexual! It only means a greater degree of endearment. Also, I am using "cheap" to mean easily impressed. When I wrote the above part last night, I did not realize it could be taken to mean that American women are easy to bed, and that is not what I mean at all. **

yes! omg very true. and yes the lady who said italians get u further, very very true! im sorry if that offended u. ok here it is if u talk sweet to a gurl without being too hastey with an english accent ull get very nice results.

It also helps if your a decent human being, we find that charming too.
