You could down load AVG, it's reported to be very good as an anti virus. Spybot ,with Spyblaster running shot gun, for spyware, also try a-square from EmsI soft ware. or Adaware SE, i run them all as they pick up diffrent spyware,malware and tracking cookies.
All theses will help protect your computer,but you need to update on a regular basis.

free adaware and free spybot, you will be fine, keep them updated and run often.
