David Eddings writes pretty funny dialogue. You might try his
Elenium Series about the tales of the knight Sparhawk. Honestly some of the funniest fantasy ever The first book is called the Diamond Throne.
I also really enjoyed the series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. Parts of it can also be quite amusing but there are also more adult aspects like violence, sex and foul language. The first book is called A Game of Thrones.

I'll echo the person who mentioned Piers Anthony's Xanth series, at least the first half of it. I haven't read the later books. The first book of the series is A Spell For Chameleon and is about Bink who is about to be banished from Xanth because everyone has to display a magical talent, and Bink hasn't found his yet.
I also enjoyed the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine (first book is Ill Wind). It is an urban fantasy (meaning it is set in this world with fantasy characters). It is about a woman who is part of a group of people who can control the elements but get accused of murdering one of her co-workers.
Also, Tinker and Wolf Who Rules by Wen Spencer are really good fantasy stories. They are sort of urban fantasy although the stories take place both in Pittsburgh and Elfhome. In this story a dimensional gate has opened between Earth and Elfhome which allows fairies and elves to come to our world.

Jane Lindskold's "Wolf" series. Dennis McKiernan's MiddleEarth books: The Iron Tower trilogy and the duology Into the Forge and Into the Fire are really enjoyable reads. Raymond Feist's continuing saga of Midkemia starting with Magician: Apprentice and continuing today are all great reads. Wen Spencer's Tinker and it's sequel are good too. There are so many books and authors out there who write good fantasy it is really hard to pick and choose. But I hope you find what you are seeking. Happy Reading!

Try George R.R. Martin's the Hedge Knight. It's a short story based on a multiple-volume series called A Game of Thrones: A Song of Fire and Ice. Though it's a fantasy world, it doesn't revolve too much around magic, though it exists. Awesome read.

My favorite fantasy author is Piers Anthony. I love his Xanth series. You can start anywhere in the series and be OK. The later the publishing date the better, in my opinion (but the first ones are good too especially for background information).
And they have very good humor in them. I suggest you read one of them, you will see, their fantastic!

Trust me on this one. It's a book called Swan Song by Robert McGammon. It's one of my favorite books, and I just started reading it again for about the fifth time. It's awesome. He has several others and all of them are good. Also, try books written by Barbara Michaels. They are love stories with kind of a supernatural twist.

Both Imajica and Weaveworld by Clive Barker were really good in my opinion.
They can get a bit... adult. But they're good fiction.
Stephen King's Darktower series is a pretty good (if long) read too.
Hope this helps!
