They are not supposed to understand you. You understand them and do what you are told and like it. Quit crying like a little sally.

Adults do try to understand teenager. It's the teenagers that don't understand that adults do understand teenagers (because we were teenagers at some point) and DON'T understand that we are trying to keep you from making the same mistakes!
Listen to your parents, they know what they are talking about. Now go to bed and get plenty of rest for school so you do well and don't end up working in a Grocery Store part-time like me!

Being teens themselves once they don't have to 'try'. They know where teenagers could be headed and try to prevent that. They have been there and seen that. If they haven't been down the path themselves, they grew up with plenty of teenagers who went there and they know where some of those wound up.
But I guess you won't understand 'old' people until you get there.

What are you talking about? We were teenagers once, too. I have to constantly try to understand my teen aged daughters. The hard part is convincing the teenagers that us "old" folks, know a thing or two...

I am 38...not real old but old enough. My teenage daughters are my best friends. They tell me everything. Including things I dont want to know. I never judge them and try to guide them in the right direction. I know they love me and we understand each over fine.

In the same way we don't understand them they don't do it to us too.Remember the life we live is not the life they lived and maybe that could be the reason they don't understand us.

they understand teenagers, and glad that it doesn't last. Teens can be summed up in one sentence.
"They want to be individuals, just like everybody else."

because times change fast, and they are used to the way they grew up, not the way times are right now..
