they determine the point of pregnancy by the size of the baby. it's nothing bad. it might mean u conceived a week before calculated or that you baby is going to be big and bouncy. the dr probably will not change your due date though. with my son, my original due date was 12/8 and when i had my 16 wk ultrasound they said my due date was 12/2, six days difference, and my doc didn't change my due date. if this is your first pregnancy, you will most likely go over your due date anyway, so don't worry, everything is fine.

the usual ultrasounds are 'quite secure' meaning they don't pose a 'major' chance to the newborn. the benefits basically outweigh the hazards. nonetheless, you would not have ultrasounds until eventually necessary as they truthfully at the prompt are not without chance. bear in options years in the past in addition they idea x rays were secure.. those days a minimum of maximum medical doctors do allow you to know about the hazards of ultrasound. a minimum of mine did. 4 continues to be interior secure limits. yet stay faraway from those new 3D ultrasounds.. they use a mega dose of ultrasound and they don't look secure. there has been a lot controversy and many places are refusing to do them, in undemanding words the more beneficial earnings oriented places. bypass ahead and performance this ultrasound... 4 is superb.

Thats fine.. :-))
Ultrasounds are not as accurate as what people are led to believe.
I have had 3 babies & not once have I had an accurate ultrasound for either dates or foetal weight. They say with a weight estimation expect 300gms either side of the estimation given.
With the dating of a pregancy they use many factors to give the estimate... femur length, skull diameter & overall length of baby).
I have found that a midwife measuring fundal height to be more accurate (measuring from the top of the uterus to pubis).
Good luck with your pregnancy :-)))))

This is perfectly natural and is 100% fine so dont worry! I remember being a first time mum, i used to scrutinise over every single little thing. Like yours, my baby was bigger than expected. The only hard thing was that he was born 9 pound 11 so i had to have an emergance ceaser! But it was fine. You should look forward to having a healthy, big strong baby. The bigger the healthier! good luck

Yeah, when I went in for my first ultrasound I thought I was 15 weeks, the radiologist said that I was about 17 weeks. So yeah, she moved my due date from July 27th to July 16th. Not very uncommon...your due date is just an educated guess...just making it a little more accurate.

Both of my children measured off. The doctors could not decide my due date, it kept changing by about a week. It is normal. Just stick to your first due date, and enjoy bonding with your baby/belly!

Yes, they estimate your pregnancy from your last menstrual cycle but that does not necessarily mean its accurate, during the ultrasound the doctor measures certain features that they know happen at certain time periods, that way they have a more accurate gestational age. congratulations!
