A minimum number of overs per team is required to constitute a match. Where the duration of a match meets this requirement, the result of the match is counted. Player statistics are counted once the first ball is bowled.
The minimum number of overs required to constitute a game varies between matches and competitions. The number of overs is specified in the playing conditions of that competition.

In ODIs each side should have played at least 20 overs for the match to be counted.
In Tests there is no stipulation for minimum overs. It will be recorded as abandoned and the records will count.
