Asexual. A paramecium can divide its nucleus into two nuclei, making two paramecium. Those two split into four, and so on. It is asexual. No paramecium is getting its rocks off, trust me on this one.

Paramecia reproduce sexually by conjugation where conditions aren't as favorable, exchanging some genetic material to allow for variation. This is a useful process that ensures that the population doesn't turn out all alike. Some of the variations may help some individuals survive when others don't make it. It's a survival strategy.
