HI KK KITTY, When i was in grade school there was a friend who starter her period and her breasts were starting to develop. Your body is just maturing faster than the other 10 year old girls. You will have to start carrying a purse with pad or tampo since there is no machine in the bathroom for you.
Your body is growing up. Take care of yourself and don't worry this is normal for you. A Friend.

It is not the norm, but it's fairly common.

There was recently a study that said it is due to "over nutrition"...and there is a strong correlation with being a little over weight as a toddler and early development

off topic advice:
It's tough having it at that age because she's probably the first one in her class.
give her a talk about how to deal with boys poking at them, because that happens alot at that age
in addition, she needs to work on staying very prepared for it (and keeping a change of clothes)...because elementry schools aren't generally very accomodating (line up for the bathroom on the teacher's schedule, and keeping things like pads in case a girl forgets)

People start developing at different times of their life, hormones play a large factor in it. Ten years old is still quite young, but I've heard of girls developing as young as eight years of age, so there isn't too much to worry about, except preparing your speech about those birds and bees.
