Juliet and Romeo were teenagers, both 14 and 16 respectfully. Juliet was "a fortnight and odd days from 14." Juliet does not lose her virginity to Paris, she does not love him. Juliet and Romeo consummate there marriage on their wedding night.
The quote, "younger than she are happy mothers made" meant girls younger than Juliet gave birth to children. This was true during that time period, The Renaissance."
If you get the chance, check out the 1968 Zeffirelli's film, "Romeo and Juliet" starring Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting....it's spectacular!

"Younger than she are happy mothers made" = people have been married at younger ages than the age juliet is at (i think she's 12, read R&J a long time ago) her mom and her Nurse tell her this to tell her that she should marry Paris.

"Paris asks Capulet for her hand" = Paris asks Juliet's dad if he can marry Juliet. Apparently that's how it worked in those days... but i don't remember anything in the play about Paris wanting children ASAP... he just asked for marriage in the play.

She doesn't actually marry/sleep with paris at all, but she is supposed to marry him. she doesn't though since she's already married to Romeo. In fact, i'm pretty sure she doesn't ever lose her virginity throughout the play.

Good luck, hope you get the part!

i did romeo and juliet last year at school. Juliet loses her virginity to romeo, because romeo comes to visit her and climbs up to the house, and then stays the night with juliet. It is romeo who juliet is really in love with. (Though you probably already know that). Paris is betrothed to Juliet, their parents are arranging a marriage for them, because their parents approve of Paris' high class and status. I dont think Paris is in love with juliet, and she certainly isn't in love with him. Paris is attracted by her, but doesn't really know her that well. He is perfectly happy to marry juliet, but the point is she isn't happy to marry him.
'younger than she are happily mothers made' means that there have been younger than her (shes between 12-13) who have made happy mothers. she is not particularly young compared to some who have born children. do you see what i mean? anyway you'll be great at juliet, i wish you lots of luck. hope this has helped!
