Check with your local volunteer center for non-profit organizations that can use your skills and talents. For example, in one of my volunteer jobs, I interview people in a twice monthly podcast for my non-profit organization. I produce and host the program for a worldwide audience.

You might do newsletters and assist in writing assignments like press releases for non-profit organizations as well.

Check with your local volunteer center for some agencies that may be able to use some help. Volunteer centers specialize in finding projects that match your interests:

Good luck!

Perhaps your school has a newspaper that you can sign up to participate in editing? Many news and local newspapers offer internships, although this is usually more typical during the time that you are earning your masters. Many jobs seek "spokespersons" or "public communication officers," but without a degree, you would need to seek such a job with a not so developed employer.
