yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah, I'm ashamed to say I have... lol!!!
It was funy though, this rude butch THING! (not that there's something wrong with being butch, ladies! much love to y'all) kept hitting me with her elbow trying to get my attention. I was angry because she was actually hurting me, so I turned, looked at her with some kind of sexy/angry/turned off grin and I told her to leave me alone because I was very much straight.
Turns out, she was friends with my date...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................LOL!!!!
She was really hurting me.

Yes, once in college. I was at a dance club w/ a bunch of my friends. Being vain, I wasn't wearing my glasses. I saw a guy from across the dance floor that I thought was someone I knew from one of my classes, so I waved him over. By the time he got about 10 feet away I realized he was NOT the guy I had mistaken him for. Not only that, but he would not leave us alone. Granted, I did wave to him. But I didn't want to say, 'Oh, you're not who I thought you were. Goodbye.' We went to another club, he followed us. We decided to go out to a restaurant: he followed us. As we were in the restaurant I turned to my friend Irene with a look of 'help me!' in my eyes. She turned on her many charms, and put her arms around me, kissed my neck, etc etc. The fellow finally got the hint. As he left he bent down to me and said, "I understand how things are between you and Irene."
She and I had fun with that line for years.
Gosh, I wonder what happened to Irene. She was really a great friend. It's been years...

I'm straight, but I have turned someone down by saying I'm gay. It works too! Well, except for one time.

Ha ha... no, never thought of it. But then to be fair, I've been in a relationship for the last ten years - so I haven't had to think of an excuse.

On a twist to your question, my best gay guy friend pretended he was my straight boyfriend to get this stalker lesbian to leave me alone-- it was his own, spur of the moment, idea.
I will always appreciate him for that!
