Good news is that you are young! Don't panic! You have tons of time to start making these decisions.
Bad news...I think you're right about being an actress...probably not the best field to get into.
Even if you think you're not all that bright...here's the best advice I can give you...GO TO SCHOOL! You've got to get a degree. While you're doing that you can test what you like/don't like. For all you know you could make a kick a@@ fashion designer...you just haven't developed the skills yet! Don't worry about what you can't do right now...you have to learn the skills first...and that's what school's for!

Pursue your dreams. Being an actor is very hard work. On top of that, it involves plenty of let downs and rejection. If you are willing to suffer through all of that, you may be able to make it.
Start by going to college. If your parents can't help, there are loans and grants available. Go to the college that you want to attend. Make an appointment to see the school counselor, or better yet check with the counselor in your high school. Either one will advise you as to the financial and academic route that you need to take. It starts by taking the basics. Study hard and you may get lucky enough to be offered a scholarship to an acting school. In the meantime, participate in all of the plays in both your school, college, and community. This will give you experience. (Check the "Living" or "Community" section of your newspaper for auditions) You will meet other people there that share your interest, and will be able to give you more insight as to how to pursue your acting career.
If you decide to go into designing. Start the same way, and move on from there.
If you really aren't sure what you want to do, see the counselor at your hgih school. There are tests that will give you an idea about specific your talents. Also, there are books in the library about different careers that will give you insight into the availability, and necessary steps to get into each field.
You sound like a very intelligent person. Don't give up. Only the determined ones make it.
Yes, you are still young, however this is the time in your life to seriously consider your future. Ten years from now when you are settled into a career, you will be glad that you did. It will put you miles ahead of those that wait until they are in their twenties.

geeeesh whats the rush! take a self meeting and figure out what u would wanna do and then make a plan for that! i'm sure that whatever u pick would somewhat work if not be a home run.
don't say your not smart cuz school is hard. einstein hated school. there was some dude in like 1000s of years ago that never went to school, but found this math book and became famously known as super smart.
school is one idea of how society educates people. it doesn't work for everyone!!! common sense is not taught in school. there are so many people i know that have been far in college but are sooo dumb with common sense.
just try something that u like... something that of course pays u something! then keep workin on the actress thingy.
i know u will make it! good luck

Okay, hold on. It takes many hours of deep thought to really decide what your interests are, and what career choice you may want to take. For myself, the only "work" that I enjoy is gathering facts and writing about it. I do this on my own, but it's too late for me to have a career at it. You can pursue entertainment, but you will need a job first, while you pursue it. Only YOU know if you have the looks, potential, and intangibles that it would take. I can only give you one piece of advice, so listen good! It will take a certain amount of audacity on your part to make these things happen. You don't have to be stuck up or a jerk, but you need a lot of AUDACITY.
Let me give you one example. Older people will always tell you that they know best and you don't know squat. 30% of the time they are right, 70% of the time they are wrong and you need to recognize it, and not allow yourself to be pushed around by them.

i'm 40 yrs old and still don't know what i want to be when i grow up! relax, there are so many opportunities and you can seize upon so many of them.
make some goal -get your passport by your 18th birthday and use it once by your 20th birthday.
finish your education -start with a 2 yr degree out of college. then, work and travel till you figure out what you want to do. do be afraid to take chances and meet new people.
fall in love -be wise and always use a condom. work on you and your needs during your 20s and focus on adding to yourself with a family by your 30s.
remember that there is always tomorrow.

not everyone got to be in their ideal job in a day.
try staying at school and look at what your interests are, for me i had to leave early and i never got a chance to do that. now try looking for a job in hospitality now it's not a hard thing maybe cleaning motel rooms or in sales. then if you get working you will have extra income to save up for a photo shoot which may lead into modeling then into acting. see where this is heading. whatever you do don't waste the money you earn set yourself realistic goals and try to achieve them one by one and have a plan. good luck!

collegeboard.com, discover.com (through a school) talk to a counselor, really explore what you like to do and find a way to get paid for it. i'm going through the same thing you are, i'm trying to decide on a major (i'm a freshman in college) so i definently know how you feel! community college may be the way to go so you can get the pre recs done so you can find out what you really want to do. good luck! :)

Film actress = waitress.
Given you're description, you really need to find some interests and get some experience beyond the superficial. for you to make money, you need to have skills that make someone else money.
