Let's say you're interviewing for a job in your field. Currently, you're not working in your field because you needed to do some other work to make ends meet and now you want to go back into your field. If the interviewer asks you, What are you doing currently? and Why do you want to go back to your field?, what would be your responses?

Be honest. Tell them you never wanted to leave your field, but you wanted to be productive while looking

Whenever you answer a question, be as honest as possible with as much spin as possible (being exaggerated honesty to fit the mold they desire) so I personally would say something along the lines of (say your field is marketing) currently I am working at Macys because I needed an immediate means to support myself but I have never lost my desire and passion for marketing so I couldn't wait to get back into it, and thats why I'm here, hoping to be in it for a long time to come. (You've just demonstrated action, passion, enthusiasm, loyalty, and longevity in what typically could have been a very stale and dead-end scenario). Good luck!

Uh... I would tell him what I was doing currently, and that I was just doing it to make ends meet. I would then say that the ends had met and now I'm going back to the field. I mean, why lie?

I changed fields to maximize my strengths.

I don't feel that I am 'going back' to that field, I feel that I moving forward now that I am able to utilize my strengths.
