So simple......
He always points towards the ball and so the ball will never swerve (compared to the likes of Drogba or Beckham who always have their face at right angles with the ball)
Also CRonaldo has his legs spread which determines that he will go for power and with his toes, he goes for a dipping shot (the Fulham goal) and also the ball never curls(swerving is a better idea!).
I prefer RGiggs taking free kicks

I think he just kick the ball hard to the corner. No 'banana kick' like Beckham or Roberto Carlos. I think there is nothing special about his freekick.

He points his toes down and swings up. Note that he stops his follow-through halfway. To make sure you got it right wacth to see no spin, (maybe) a both sided swerve (look at his goal against fulham last year) and (maybe) a dip when it reaches the target.
