I've never done accupuncture for my periods but did it for osteoarthritis about 15 years ago and after 6 treatments I found it very helpful.

I have talked to some women who have tried it and found it very helpful.

I would recommend that you check with your dr to check what's going on that could be causing problems with your periods if you are having cramping that is affecting your ability to function before starting the accupuncture.

Absolutely. I work for a Chiropractor/licensed acupuncturist and he performed acupuncture for a wide variety of symptoms. I see patients come in one week feeling terrible (menstrual cramps, to back aches, head aches, etc.) and by the next week or two feel great. Everyone is different though and the treatment works in different time frames for everyone. But give it a try, it is worth a shot. You may want to inquire with your insurance too to see if it is covered. Some cover it and others don't. We get the procedure covered because we do physical therapy with it and used the PT code. Otherwise, it is $80.00, which is pretty reasonable in the Chicago area.

I actual have reallly undesirable cramps besides (to the factor of lacking college, throwing up ect.) and the tylenol i used did no longer help in any respect. i take advantage of Midol, specifically for mestrual cramps. no longer basically is it very quickly, it is amazingly clever.
