Is there anyone, currently running or not, Republican, Democrat, Independent, Green, black, white, brown, yellow man or woman, that you think the overwhelming majority of voters would vote for?

The first half of Downtown's answer seems to be the most accurate so far, although Joseph II has identified the reason no GOOD candidates run. We listen to and follow the musings of the media (I don't suggest you don't vote. I believe voting is VERY important).

I was hoping someone could think "outside the box" and come up with a candidate that's not a politician like Stephen Hawkings, or Barry Manilow (not really Barry). We are beat to death with Hillary, who hasn't actually accomplished anything as a senator and Barack Obama who Ted Kennedy confused with Osama Bin Laudin and John McCain who is tugging at our heartstrings with his POW injuries.

Isn't there SOMEONE out there that could, as Bush 43 said, be a uniter, not a divider (even though Dubya is clearly a divider)?

A captain of industry? An activist who has conventional ideas? Someone who actually has common sense?

A little help here, but not more of the common fare of candidates, PLEASE. Some original thoughts.

Probably not. I think if Jesus Himself walked the Earth & ran for president- an Opposition Party of non-believers would spring up & give Him a run for His prayers! :) (I't'd be an INTERESTING Election though...-We'd all finally find out the answer to the age old question; "What would Jesus do?" !!! :)

Most people listen to the mainstream media to make the choices for who they vote for, so no telling what puppet will be on the ballot. I say a good recipe for candidacy is someone who lies, pushes the illusion of a two party struggle(Republicans vs. Democrats), and generally shouts comfort slogans to the public on how they could alleviate the "problems" we have with their "solutions". It's bought & sold, I recommend for people not to vote, because it doesn't matter either way. Focus energies on more important things instead....like answering questions! HAHAHA.

The real candidate has not come out yet None of the ones that have spoken up are not the best for the country We are going to need an absolute genius to straighten out the mess in Washington It is going to require one that can get past party politics Perhaps WJ Clinton could come back temporarily to help get things back on even keel It is going to be frightening to find out just how bad GWB has screwed up this country

I think if voters give him a long look Bill Richradson the govenor
of New Mexico might be the answer....if not as a Presidential
candidate then as their running mate. He caught my attention on c-span a few weeks ago very strong on foreign affairs especially hot spots like Dafur and North Korea, I also believe he represented the U.S. as UN amabassador, He just sounded and actually looked like he cares.

I like Romney, but he doesn't have a chance to win because all you'll hear about from the left is about how he a Mormon, after him I like both Rudy and McCaine. Hilary isn't worth a warm cup of ... well you know what and although Obama has started off strong nobody really knows any of his politics and he has no chance of winning in 08
