No, for which I am extremely grateful.
I do have friends that think they do, but I sometimes wonder if it not just regular sadness they are experiencing from living in a complex world, and like too many other people, they get scared of feeling anything and so run to the doctor for meds to make it go away. I am not in any way saying that people do not suffer from real depression, and truly need to be treated for it to make life bearable for them, but it sometimes seems that more and more people have a variety of disorders requiring medication for simply feeling something.

No, not for a long time. I believe everyone has at one time in their lives. I've had my moments, too. I try to rationalize things out and take things day-by-day, moment-by-moment. When someone dies or something like that, or when we go through a divorce or bad relationship, we're all expected to go through periods of depression. It's how we rebound that counts. I let time solve most of the sad times, along with being surrounded by friends and family.

I'm trying not to suffer from it. I just got off Paxil a little over a week ago and the withdrawal is only just now starting to subside.

I am trying to think it is something I have to monitor rather than suffer from so I don't think of myself as a victim.

When I was diagnosed, I didn't know it was depression, I just thought it was hormonal. You don't have to be depressed about a specific thing, there are many different symptoms. I am now on medication and feel 100% again.

Yes, though not clinically depressed. I just spent time with my friend when I was depressed to forget about my problems.
