I'm paying my own way through college and have always worked. I don't take time for luxuries like summer vacation or spring break.

How is it that the vast majority of college students (it seems) don't hold a job and still go on spring break? Rich parents, irresponsible debt, credit cards, savings?

Legislators and the public have a hard time being worried about college costs when so many students spend reckless money, no?

Some save or use tax refunds. Others take extra student loans to cover the vacation(hey you don't have to pay for it for 4 years). Still others use parents or significant others' money. Some just take cheap vacations. The problem with reckless spending is that they are able to take way more than they need and many get rear ended with it after they are finished with college.

They get their mummies and daddies to give em money, save some money from previous jobs and such, and sometimes they have a rich friend who will pay for everything.
