restart your comp, sometimes I would do the cntrl + alt +del and close programs that I wasn't using, someone said it'd make your comp go faster, but I dunno

Anyways, if you stop the prog. itunes helper or something then your iPod won't auto-do w/e.

Restart your comp and if you have the program it'll start up again, if you don't have it, you gotta do the whole instal w/ cd thing.

You might have to "sync" your IPod. Have you tried that? If so then you might want to check the IPod website for help and support...there are message boards for all kinds of topics and they are actually quite helpful.

This happened to me before. I got really mad. But the answer is so simple, get a new USB cord.

try putting "update ipod". if that doesn't help, maybe try restoring your ipod. there's also preferences for updating it, like "only update checked songs".
