i was looking at the specs on the sostice and its a pretty good car for a 4cylinder 2.4 liter engine it has more hp than a tiburon v6 gt but the tiburon out torques it by much more than the solstice does on hp. who do you think would win in a 1/4 mile???

The Soltice would do much better only because even if the V6 out torques it, the torque will only really go to move the extra weight heft, that the Tiburon posesses over the Solstice.

Torque is what pushes you off the line when you start to accelerate from a stop. While Horsepower is what pulls you there-on after.

As for as V6's go on the Tiburon, it's really at the lower end of displacement, and you could easily find a 4cylinder, like a 2.4L, or even the 2.5L from the Altima, that can post matching, or even better HP and TQ. ratings. Granted, it'll post them at higher RPM's because there's no replacement, for displacement, but it's cheaper for a manufacturer to build a high winding 2.4L 4 cylinder which weighs less, than offering a V6 which is heavier/complex to build which will weigh more with really no other benefit than maybe being smoother and being quieter.

Hope this helps :-)
