We met at church! He was in our small city, visiting his brother, who was our priest. Saw him in the congregation from the choir loft where I was, a "stranger" stood out, and someone told me who he was. Now, my dad was deacon at the church, and often my mom would have the priest over for lunch after church. So she did that day, invited the priest and his brother.
After lunch, the dudes were in the living room, mom and I were in the kitchen. Now, my VERY conservative mother DARED me to ask him out! Well, never being shy, I went and asked him. He could hardly say no in front of my dad and his brother! We went to a movie that night.
Saw each other over the next year once in a while for coffee. The guy I was dating then had gone to Europe for university, and I moved almost five hours away for a teaching job. Came home the next summer, and so did the bf. Things weren't the same, because I was thinking of this other guy - who had moved to my hometown in the interim. Saw this guy a few times, he knew I was dating the other one - and went to see him to see if he if the guy was "serious" about me. Well, we weren't, and broke up. (What's funny here is that guy went on to become a priest!) So my guy and I dated for two years and got married in 1989 - happily together for over 17 years. There's more detail to the story, but this is long enough. ..

I met my husband at work in 2003. He was already working for the company when I started. Although I thought he was cute, we didn't really get to know each other very well since we both worked in different departments. April 2005 we ended up both working the same shift on Sundays, when not too many other people were working. We started talking during those shifts and a couple of weeks later, he asked me out. I knew during that first date that he was the one for me. We got engaged pretty quickly, about a month later, and by November we were married. I just had our first child together in January. Life couldn't be better!

We met through Yahoo Personals, believe it or not. He had a personal ad that I found one night when I was supposed to go clubbing, but had gotten ditched by my friend. I emailed him asking for a photo, because the other guys I had met through Yahoo were downright fugly. He wrote back immediately and we chatted on Yahoo messenger for a bit. We were both 23.

He happened to live in my city, so we talked on the phone for several hours that night and met for dinner at a pub two nights later. His photo had not done him justice, and he was smart, sarcastic, and funny. I jumped him in the parking lot after dinner, and if I hadn't needed to be at work at 11:45 p.m., I would have taken him home with me! :)

That was over seven and a half years ago. We'll have our 4th wedding anniversary in July, and we have a 3 month old baby girl named Eva.

The Vietnam war was going on and a friend asked a group of us to become pen pals to a few of her neighbors who were fighting over there. I wrote to this guy a few months and when he came home for R&R we went out. We did not get along very well and I never wrote him again. When he came home for good a year later, he called and asked me out, I said ok, not really expecting anything but wanted to see how he was. We spent the entire night falling in love, we were at Disneyland and with his sister and her date but it felt like we were the only two people on the planet. A year later we were married. That was 0ver 38 years , 2 sons and seven grandchildren ago.

We met at a church single adult cookout/party. I thought he was the biggest jerk I had ever seen there. He was being really obnoxious and complaining that people never planned these things well enough. So, I tell this woman that I'm standing by talking to that I thought he was a major jerk. She just sort of laughed and told me that he's not so bad, once you get to know him. Turns out...she was his sister (and is now my sister in law!) She was right too, he's not so bad once you get to know him. We've been married for over 19 years now....
