I dreamed that I was looking out my bedroom window and I saw a young angelic looking child beaconing me to come. I went downstairs and out the back and found myself sitting in a group of people - all of whom I knew, but are now dead. I kept asking myself over and over again, is this real, or is it a dream. I thought I must be dreaming, but then I kept thinking hang on, this is NOT a dream - this IS real. I wasn't scared but I was a bit confused and concerned that I should get back to my body. My husbands grandmother was there - she died a few weeks ago but I wasn't particularly close to her and didn't go to her funeral. She looked much younger that she was when she died and she looked peaceful. I told her, in fact, I told them all that they were dead. As the "experience" went on, I started to go back into normal dreaming although I knew I wasn't yet awake. I knew there was a difference between the dream bit and the "real" bit. Anybody had this before?

I think this is called lucid dreaming, where in your actual dream you kinda have a sense that it's a dream and it's not real. I've had many of these, I really don't know what causes your unconscious brain to act that way. I also dream of people that have already died, but in the dream the notion is that everyone thought they were dead all this time and they weren't, they were like lost or something. Really weird stuff, I know that dreams like this leave you with a bazaar feeling right after you wake up.

I recently had an episode of night terrors, coupled with sleep paralysis and full hallucinations...I "dreamed" (i still don't know if it was a dream) that i was being choked. I either blacked out or woke up but i felt hands around my throat. The clock in my "dream" kept perfect time with the clock beside me when i was awake. When i got choked my eyes where opened and i couldn't move. No one was in my room even though i thought i felt breathing. I recently (today actually) looked up the symptons and its a combo of stuff.

So in a creepy way, yes. Yes i have.

this happened 2 nights ago btw.

Sounds like astral projecting. Our spirits leave our bodies during sleep and - what people refer to as - daydreaming.
It's a perfectly natural part of life. Loved ones wanted to see you and let you know they're always near by when you need them. It's a real blessing to aknowledge it and, of course, the experience is very gratifying.
