So far in my pregnancy I have lost 12 pounds, at least that's how much I had lost total at my 14 week appointment. But I'm showing ALOT. I was slightly overweight before I got pregnant, so I can understand the weight loss is probably me losing fat in other places. But my belly is getting really big. I know my uterus and everything is growing, but still, I feel like I'm big for someone who LOST 12 pounds. My belly doesn't look fat at all, it's hard and round. Could this be a sign of having twins? I've only heard a heartbeat one time for a matter of seconds (apparently my baby is quite the wiggler) so I wouldn't know if there were two heartbeats. I had one ultrasound at 10 weeks, and it looked like just one but I've been told one can hide behind the other. Also, I know the baby is still tiny but could it be a sign of a large baby?

It's my first pregnancy so I'm just curious. Thanks for any help! =)

Oh I also should mention that I am eating well and had no nausea or vomiting at all in my pregnancy so far so that wouldn't be what's causing the weight loss. Maybe it has something to do with me eating healthier, but it isn't from nausea or vomiting.

Ok when I say I was overweight, I don't mean really overweight, I'm really healthy, I'm just not super thin. I wasn't very big before getting preggo either.

I suddenly do not feel alone!! I really am starting to think that our "healthier" eating habits are the reason for this weight loss! Wow, you lost a lot though!!! My doctor told me when I was losing weight not to worry about it because I am sure to gain it later on in my pregnancy. It's funny though because I do have a belly! When are you due? I'm due August 22! I'll find out my baby's gender next week!!!! YAY!! We should be due date buddies! Do you have myspace?http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=32612181 (this link takes you to my page)
Congrats by the way!!

You stated your wellbeing care expert stated there grow to be no longer something incorrect. The wellbeing care expert is the expert right here- if he/she stated no longer something grow to be incorrect, do no longer hassle! definitely everyone seems to be distinctive for the time of being pregnant. only using fact one guy or woman effective factors 80 pounds for the time of a being pregnant does no longer recommend you're too. some human beings, such as you only defined your self, only have thier abdomen becoming. If the toddler is kicking and having a heartbeat there is not any longer something to agonize approximately- that's getting its nutrients from you, so only be effective you eat healthful! i comprehend what boat you're on- I eat like a %as nicely, yet make some sacrifices and attempt some thing new! attempt healthful new stuff over take-out!! while you're nevertheless annoying, ask your wellbeing care expert his/her opinion on why you're no longer gaining weight. perhaps an evidence from the rfile will calm you down. Congratulations, by employing the way!

In my first pregnancy i lost weight too. I know that was from stress. Maybe you are a bit stressed about becoming a mum for the first time. If your doctor isn't worried then i wouldn't worry about it either. As long as your baby is growing and looks healty on the scans. The weight loss could also be because you are eating better.

depending on how overweight you were..it would be safe to loose some weight...the only time they reccomend people to loose weight while pregnant is the ones who are over weight!! but your only 17weeks and those 12 pounds are going to come back..maybe not as fat..but somewhere in the uterus! but since you over weight try not to gain too much weight! but try not to loose anymore
