Some guy in my fantasy wants Dye really badly. but i really don't want to give up an outfielder without receiving one back. But he may include another player like Chris Young or David Wright. However i feel like i don't need those players as much.
If you want to see my team it is posted on another question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnHO7DRiyhE.n1edK6joOkHsy6IX?qid=20070311202151AAXkPFz

Raul Ibanez: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5665

Jermaine Dye: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5610

So what would you do?

Without a doubt. I would go for Jermaine Dye...

Dye has had other great seasons. ( do know he will not do as well as he did last year ) but he will be able to get 100 rbi's and at least 25-30 homers and a .290 avg

Ibanez never had a great season and is just as old.
Expect him to drop down to normal land and have his normal 80-20-80 season with maybe a hand ful of steals and maybe a 280 average.

GO with Dye. (plus he has a higher rateing in yahoo and is in a better park in Chicago, and has a better team behind him)

Now if he gives you David Wright (3b from the mets) take this trade in an instant. You can go around and trade him to a team for another OF better then Dye.

If the Chris Young you are talking about is the pitcher then do it. If it is Chris B Young... maybe. Wright doesn't do you much good unless A-Ram gets hurt.
Dye and Ibanez both came out of nowhere and exploded last year, it's difficult to expect either one to repeat. But of the 2 old guys Dye is more likely to come close to last years numbers.
If he gives up a tier one starting pitcher or closer with Raul then do it. If he wanted Dye so bad he should have drafted him in the 5th round like everybody else instead of waiting until 7th to get Ibanez.
In addition to just a player swap, as a competing manager you must also not let him off the hook for not spending his early draft pick to get the player.
This trade is like letting him take Dye 2 rounds later than he should've been able to - check his draft pick from the same round you took Dye. He probably took a tier one pitcher like Peavy or Lackey.... you can't let him have both.

You are right. Yo don't need those players as much. You already have a weak outfield (Dye being your best) and you already have A-Ram for third base so Wright although a better overall player does you no real good. However, since Swisher can play OF as well, so maybe he'll offer you Wright (which would be a great Util) AND a decent OF (see if he has someone like a Alex Rios). In theory, he shouldn't do this, but if he wants Dye bad enough.....

Dye's season was not normal for him, dont expect the same numbers. Go Ibanez.
