How long before I will be able to ride again? The neck is ok, it was only a hairline fracture, but I just RE-BROKE the arm *well, someone did it 4 me*, so we are back to ground zero with the arm. How long do these types of fractures take to heal?

I broke my neck when I was 16. I broke the C-7 vertabre and I was dumbfounded that I could walk and function normally. It sounds like this is what you are at, too. I was able to play baseball 5 months afterwards and I recieved surgery. The surgery wouldn't have been neccasary but I didn't wear my brace because it was uncomfortable and didn't allow it to heal. If you just relax and let it take time I promise you 7-10 weeks you will be back on your bike again. I do not recommend the surgery to put plates and screws in your neck it is a hassle and only forces you in a brace and crutches (shave bone from your hip) for weeks afterwards.

Never push a neck injury, let your doctoir do the healing.

Dont mess with the neck , the difference between paraplgia or constant agonising pain or healing is millions of an inch.

Fractures take as long as they need to heal, even when they seem fully healed you can still get twinges.

Just take your time and allow the therapists to do their skillful work , it may take longer but you will enjoy the benefits for longer as well.

I'm a slow healer so it took a wee bit over 3-weeks, like a month to heal and almost 2 months of physical therapy. Then again I did broke my foot.

So brave of you to be eager to get back on the bike again, but do be careful and give it healing time before riding. Should be no more than I'd say about 3 months if you consider to do some physical therapy so your left arm muscles can fully recover and function as it use to be.

Good luck!

Itdepends on numerous factors including your age, exact location of break, and so on. But you can figure somewhere between 6-9 weeks.

Your doctor is the one who should let you know when its safe to start riding again.
