I have not seen it because it look questionable but a friend of mine saw it and said it was very good and quite historically acurate.
Unfortunately, they had to include the token love interest because it is a more male targeted movie and they had give their dates a reason to go.

Jila and Zionist, oh shaddup!!
History is full of uncomfortable facts that small minded people can't accept. The Battle of Thermopylae (ther-mop-o-lay; it's a big word word, huh?) happened in 480 BC. The Spartans led an alliance of Greek city-states against the Persians who invaded. The Greeks were vastly outnumbered but were able to hold off the Persian invaders long enough for Athens to prepare for battle. Thus the Persian navy was destroyed at the Battle of Salimis, Xerxex I(Zerk-jeez) went back to Asia and he left his army in Greece under the command of Mardonius. He and the Persian army fought the Greek army at the Battle of Plataea where they were soundly wooped by the Greeks. The Greco-Persian War ended and ended their incursion into Europe.
This movie shows the bravery and honour of the men fighting for their home knowing full well that they would die. They even got their armour ready making it look the best it could - as heros to Greece they had to go out in style and look the part.
Stop going on about evil portrayals of the Persians. They were the invaders! Are you glad the Nazis didn't win in WWII (FYI, they were the invaders that time - think of Poland)? Or should we have shown the soft underbelly? Gads, pacifists make me sick.
Okay, try this (I'll try to use simple words for you):
Go to a library (a local building full of information)
Go to a book store,
Now go to the HISTORY section.
There will be various size objects about the shape of a gift box with sheets of paper in them.
The paper has words on them - be brave now,
READ AND DISCOVER!

The movie is definitely one of the best (if not the best) of 2007. This is one of the best man movies ever created, enough to bring a tear to one's eye. To get the female audience in, they did expand the story of Gorgo, Leonidas' wife. As a fan of the graphic novel, this movie is definitely what I wanted it to be and more. The only qualm I have is not with the movie, it's idiots crying about historical inaccuracies. Hey buddy, it was based on a graphic novel, so not every details is going to be in there. And the so-called "Persians", it's a movie. Get over it. This is a must see. "Madness? This IS Sparta!"

I know that i should answer this after i've seen the movie,
but from what i've seen from the trailers, the film has quite
a few historical errors. For one thing, Xerxes army was
numbered at about 200-225 thousand men, not a million...
Heroditus' very inaccurate count......

That movie was awesome! Frank Miller is an amazing writer and continues to knock down walls and limits to the imagination!

No. It is garbage. It is a bunch of lies fed to feable minded idiots. Dumb people accept any nonsense as fact.

The majority of the Earth's population have low IQ. When the idiots were told the Earth is flat, the majority of the people who were idiots accepted it as truth.

It was very racist towards the brave people of the middleeast. And I think it was a movie to brainwash weakminded western people of the world into thinking that all persian "aka" middleeast people should be destroyed and or are the enemy to us now. It's not that great of a movie and i thought it was total blurry *** hollywood zionist bigscreen garbage.Look past the movie and the story is pure racist crap.
