I think to a certain extent.
I have been a BIG fan of U2. Which have been considered to be the third greatest rock band of the 20th century. Rolling Stones being the second and the Beatles being the first.
However, I never really got into the Stones. And the Beatles were good, but like The Doors, I do not find them to be ALL THAT.
Even U2 is criticized when pinned up against Osis. What did Osis do again? Wonderwall and then that high song? Champagne what again?
But Osis are probably a more popular band. I was never really influenced by them. But U2 did have a BIG impact on me as a person and a writer.
So, in my world. U2 is the greatest. However, in the next guy or girls world. AC/DC blows U2 outta the water. So, it would depend on to whom you speak to.
But, their influence was great. As for this artist. Not so much. Then again, I'm not playing sold out crowds every night. But just you wait. I'll be there one day...
PEACE, LOVE, and POPCORN!

I believe not...I deeply remember that time..It was and still extraordinary influence all over the world...something which never occur with anyone in present time...no doubt...All today stars in compare with Beatles appearances would be considered as a local and short lived events....and it is so...like nowadays popular songs with a life span of just a few weeks and there is another hit appear ....Beatles was an unexplainable phenomena and no matter how hard researchers try to define it, element of mysterious happening still in there.

The Beatles deserve all the credit they have received and perhaps more.
Musically, they pushed the boundaries of modern music beyond anything grasped at that time. Their music has become standard pop art that will probably be easily recognizable by children born 50 years from now.
Unlike many other popular bands since that time, they stayed edgy, diverse and generally very cool while still never wavering from a common theme: all you need is love. They helped transform a culture... for the better.
And the lyrics! "wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for?".... "living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstaning all you see.."
...simply timeless

Who else would you rather give the title of the most influential group of the last century?
Who else has had such a lasting impact the popular psyche and idiom that it manages to capture public imagination even over 25 years after they last sang together?

No they were four very influential people at the time when they were at the peek of their fame. They wrote some fantastic tunes that will be with us forever. I don't think they were gven anymore credit than they were due. I was there, I remember how great they were.

Not enough. If it weren't for them, men wouldn't be able to grow their hair long. And there would be no hippies.
