I was wondering about Brandon Lee's death..

Because my younger sister had friends over the other day, and one mentioned the fact that Brandon ( Eric Draven ) was killed during the making of the movie, while I know this is in fact true, she said it was on purpose, that it wasn't an accident like many claimed it was..

I know his death was caused from a faulty supposed to be blank bullet during the scene when his character came home to find his fiancée being raped by thugs..

My sister's friend claimed that Brandon had been doing research to find out who killed his father Bruce Lee, and that the people that murdered his father found out about this, so they somehow were able to mess with the props on the movie set, so that when they were filming ( Eric's ) death scene he would be shot with a real bullet, therefor attempting to kill him also..

So I just want to know, if anyone knows if this is true, or just a false rumor?..

I want to believe it was an accident, but it seems like it's easier to believe that it was murder, because it is so strange that a scene like that could have "accidentally" killed him..

When scenes just like that, have been accomplished with no trouble at all..

Maybe it's just me though..

The Wilmington, NC police department (where the shooting took place on the soundstage at the former Carolco studio) officially ruled his death a tragic accident. Brandon's death was the last on a long list of accidents that had taken place on the set during the course of the movie due to budget cuts.

His father Bruce Lee died in 1973 of what was ruled a "brain edema" (brain swelling), but rumors and conspiracy theories still persist. Whether or not the *official* causes of their deaths are what really killed them, we'll never know.

It wasn't a real bullet.
Blanks still produce shells when the gun is fired.

Somehow, a shell from a blank got lodged into the chamber when the first blank was fired, so when the second blank fired, it propelled the shell out of the barrel. A bullet didn't kill Brandon Lee, a shell did.

Blanks still propel sharp bursts of air. Like you can't hold a blank up to somebody's head and shoot. It could still severely injure if not kill them.
But at a distance, they're safe to use in movies.

PS If people really wanted him dead, they could have just broke into his house or something. They wouldn't go to the trouble of sabotaging movie-making props at a Hollywood studio.

The thing about conspiracy theories is that they are almost never true.

UPDATE
I saw your update. You think it's a murder because scenes like that are usually done with no trouble at all?
Does that mean that any time there's a freak accident it means it was planned? No, that's why they're called "freak accidents", because they're unusual.
Owen Hart of WWF wrestling wasn't strapped into his harness properly and fell 90 feet during a wrestling event and died. Was he murdered too just because it's usually done successfully?
Or Steve Irwin, who was shooting a nature show and died from a sting ray. Does that mean he was murdered just because nature shows are usually shot with no trouble at all?
Think a little harder.

Brandon Lee was killed by the Chinese Mafia because of his style of fighting that he still had in his blood it was a very secret style of fighting only a chosen few from the Buddist Shaolin temple know this style and Bruce Lee had tried to teach a mixed version of this style to people of the west and he was then in turn killed for it.Brandon Lee knew this style from his father and was just starting his movies when he was then killed. Why because part of Bruce Lee and what he had been teaching this style to Brandon Lee.And he was using this watered down version of this style of fighting in some of his new movies and this was a very special style of fighting even if it was not the original style used. It's a style that was not meant to be shared among nonbelievers and people of different races and cultures. So they where both murdered over a very secret style of fighting not meant to be shared with anyone on the outside.

NO NO NO Brandon was killed by a gun that (dispite had blanks in it) the wadding pulled metel from the shaft and lodged in his heart. He never wondered how his Dad died. The famly curse came about after his death linking him to Bruce scince they both died filming movies.
Buy the Deluxe version there is a great documentry on his death. It was just a coincidence that they both died filming movies. The documentry shows Brandons mom talking about the same ? u have. You can find the doc. on you tube.

The rumor is that Brandon Lee caught the "Lee" curse. And that yes it was no accident, the Chinese or Japanese Mafia(I can't remember which) had Brandon killed.

It was my understanding that the investigation was dropped at the request of his mother.
