Well, since Asian noses are considered "ethnic" rhinoplasty, the procedure would be different from a white person's. If you've had one, could you tell me what it was like? I was thinking of seriously slimming down my nose (I think it's too wide) and maybe making the bridge higher.

I am thinking of going to Hong Kong to get one...or to an Asian country. Is this a good idea?

Rhinoplasty performed on Asians has the same goal as rhinoplasty performed on Caucasians, which is to build a natural-appearing structure that blends harmoniously with the face. Usually, Asians require augmentation of the nose, while Caucasians usually require reduction.
In the Philippines, the most commonly requested nasal surgery is the "noselift." Most Filipino plastic surgeons use solid silicone L-shaped implants in order to increase the height of the nasal bridge and to increase the projection of the nasal tip. The bend of the L forms the new tip. Many Asian patients will also need an alar plasty operation to decrease the wide nasal base. A skillful surgeon will use a technique to remove small wedges of skin to bring the nostrils closer together and which will result in natural looking nostrils.
Most American patients request reduction rhinoplasty for large noses and hence many American plastic surgeons have less experience performing noselifts.
Rhinoplasty may seem like a very simple operation and I have seen many great results, but because the operation is in the nose which is in the middle of the face, it can also have disastrous results if not done properly. Wherever you decide to get your rhinoplasty, choose a qualified, board certified plastic surgeon with the training and experience necessary for the success of your surgery, Not all people who offer cosmetic surgery services are actually trained in plastic surgery and it's best to make sure they are certified as plastic & reconstructive surgeons, not in another specialty.

yes, i think this is an excellent question.....i knew an asian
girl who had her nose done......slimmed down and had a piece put in to accentuate the bridge of her nose also----she did this with no anesthetic or pain pills afterwards.....i have never seen anyone in more pain and agony after having rhinoplasty.........omg i thought she was going to die. she was in so much pain. althought i do not know why her surgeon did not offer her anesthesia.
oh boy, was she suffering but after about 1 month she started to feel much better and she looked great. she was my friend so i could ask her stuff.like why in the world would you not have the asian flap removed from her eyes at the same time.
and she told me that if she did that then she wouldn't be herself and i guess i was satisfied with that answer........but it seemed so conveluded......don't you think??? like i said she was my friend so i could get away with asking her that question..........

Rhinoplasty surgery is very safe nowadays. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

hmm..u want to have a nose job?
actually it doesnt look that bad..im sure :)
as an asian we are made to be extremely beautiful with that kind of nose
and going under surgical procedure or having ur nose done to make it look good doesnt sound good to me
i can always recognize who have fake nose and who dont! I find it very pathetic..and just so FAKE!
why would you try to change ur nose? we're alot prettier than caucasian..so just keep it that way..you can be pretty by just being urself and not carrying that pointed "plastic nose" on ur face
