Pretreat the night before washing with Shout or something like that. Use at least warm water if shirts will tolerate it. Does he use the gel type deoderant? My husband does and his shirts do the same thing. He switched to the solid type and that seemed to help.

Rub the spots with a laundry pretreater, like spray and wash. Wash the shirts in the hottest water that the label says you can use.

It sounds like you need to switch deodorants. Switch to an invisible solid that is both deodorant and antiperspirant and that should solve your problem.

I'm alergic to tide also - I use scented liquids (pine scent) and very warm water then when dry I spray a little fabreeze on the clothes (in the dryer) and tumble a couple of minutes. Works great for me.

Believe it or not, you can use a dab of regular shampoo mixed with water to form a sticky-like paste to pretreat the stain. Arm and Hammer makes a great detergent for those with sensitivities to laundry soap and works great. Change your husband's deodorant with an anti perspirant and he won't sweat it off as fast.

BIZ! It is the greatest thing for any stains. Buy the powdered kind and make what my grandma calls a "biz bag" - put cold water in a bucket with a scoop of biz and the shirts or what ever, let it sit for 24hrs and then dump it (water and all) in the wash with whatever else you would put in the same load and add your regular detergent. And then, wah-la! No more stains!

Go over the spot with a liquid detergent, and wash in the hottest water, that the garments can take. Then in the rinse cycle, add 1 cup of vinegar to the water. that should do it.

Keep his work laundry separate, use pretreaters on the really nasty stuff, wash in hot water (not warm), rinse in cold or warm. Try Cheer. That's pretty good.
