Because times change and people modify themselves. I think that every "tyranny" must come to an end, and this specific type is getting there. People are either becoming more tolerant or more hypocritical, but even so, bit by bit we're showing the world that homosexuality is real and it won't go anywhere. Deal with it or shut your mouth.

Why are u asking "why" ya should be saying "about time". But I think everything in society needs or has to get picked on (i.e. blacks,Japanese, Hispanics, middle eastern, etc.). So I'm guessing its our turn to be accepted. I'm happy those hate crimes on the news seem so scary. Its like damn I have to hide my true feelings for her so I wont get those looks and the weird feeling of someone staring at us.

LJ, this is because our current society has become more tolerant. I will not say that we have become enlightened, because we're pretty much still in the dark. But one thing's for sure, many people now understand that gays are also unique people, and that most are good and simple people, far from what the stereotyped description is.

Because generally speaking, we're less ignorant about sexuality and the origins of sexual orientation. We now know more that being gay isn't a disease, it's not a mental condition or abnormal in any way. It's not harmful, disruptive, or life threatening.
It simply just is.

why shouldn't it be? Accepted by whom? Personally, I could care less what others think of me, how I live, who I choose to live with, and who I choose to love. Why is it anyone else's business.. I certainly do not give a damn who you sleep with..why are you so concerned as to whom I sleep with?

Why shouldn't it be. Not accepting it will not make it go away, so you might as well accept it. We are productive members of society, so why shun us. We are your teachers, neighbors, clerks, waiters/waitresses, doctors, lawyers, we are everywhere. Every part of our society should be accepted, whether you agree or not.

Maybe people are done playing god and judging/condemning others. Maybe more of society is getting off their high horse and start to respect all of gods creation instead of picking and choosing.
