Someone I thought was a close relative told me I never call her. Actually I did call and my msgs weren't returned. After leaving messages for 2 weeks, I was told I was on the return list behind one of her book club members. This April she called to tell me she got engaged & was probably getting married sometime in the Fall-to someone she knew only a few months and who I had met once. I was thrilled for her and a few weeks later mailed a wonderful engagement present, which was returned because she had moved and changed her phone #. I called her sister who was aware I didn't have the new info and was told she'd get back to me - which of course she didn't - so I wasn't able to resend the gift. Then I find out after the fact that I wasn't invited to her lavish wedding and I haven't heard from her or her family since. Now, 1 yr. later, I receive a birth announcement that she had a baby last month. She's a relative, but I am so hurt by her actions. Do I need to send a gift? If so what?

No gift. She didn't want your first gift so why should she expect something now. If you want to sent something, send a card. She has to know that she hurt you and if she doesn't, then she is not as close as you would have liked to believe.

No... I can't figure out why she keeps sending or telling you of her announcements. I'm sure it's hurtful but these people are wierd.
