Ikea and Mor Furniture for Less are in Kent/Tukwila, in the valley between I-5 and Hwy 167 near Southcenter.
Southcenter boasts a large Levitz showroom as well as Skabro (? someting like that), Dania, and Ethan Allen.
The Old Cannery, a great place for solid wood furniture and furinature made by the Amish, is in Sumner (off of Hwy 167).
In Tacoma there is Levitz, and Macy's Furniture Gallery, as well as a few others.
Thomasiville, Basset and Seldon's are all in Fife, just off I-5.
Since I don't know your style or price range, it's hard to recommend the best place. My favorite is The Old Cannery. They fit my rustic, woods-y style with lots of Shaker and Mission style furniture. They used to have a huge sale every Memorial and Labor Day Weekends, but I'm not sure if they still do that.
