I'm trying out for the drama club at my college and one of the plays being talked about involves one of the characters fainting. How should I practice it without hurting myself?

Try practice in pool. Enjoy a nice swim after that practice....is good exercise too.

do not fall onto a hard surface, and do so away from furnature and animals who may become agitated. do not fall on head or anything that has recently suffered injury. be prepared to bruise if you fall for more than 15 minutes.

if it is a short faint, faint onto a couch from the side, almost like if you were sitting down, only just bend the knees and collapse onto it. (that works for short stuff, trust me!)

u should practice in front of the mirror and get into the character , and in your normal life u have to forget that u r working in a drama. and if somebody heart your emotion than u have to be very Strong be an drama queen. so u have to believe in yourself first and then u can make everyone trust on u. so u have to be carry that character just on the stage and after that u should have to forget that u are in a drama. thanks.

Lie down on your side, to begin with, and then raise your upper body by lifting with your arm. Practice rolling along the length of your body from your thighs, your hips, your ribs. Get the sense of rolling, this is what will keep you from hurting yourself. As you get more comfortable try it from a kneeling position for a while, then a crouching position, then standing.

Be sure that you don''t try to catch yourself with your hand, but allow yourself to roll. The arm on the side of the body that rolls along the floor should be extended upward, over your head and it also should roll.

I hope that is clear.

You basically sit down and then fall onto your side, so that the most impact hits your butt and you dont get seriously injured. Practice it slowly first on a tumbling mat or a carpeted floor and work on speeding the move up until it looks natural. Make sure you dont hit your joints (elbows, wrists, hip) on the floor during the initial impact or you could break something.

The trick is to crumple down, not just fall flat on your face. It's called Prat Falling. You basically catch yourself on the way down. It's not hard at all, and doesn't hurt a bit.

Make sure you have 5 feet of pillows under you, so when you fall, you don't get hurt.

How tall are you? 4ft 9?

Great! I'm sure "falling" UP 3 inches or so wouldn't hurt that bad.

first, try doing it slowly (slow motion status) so that you know how you're going to do it. do it sideways, down to your knees, then back, then head.
gradually, try doing it a little faster and a little faster each time.
when you feel comfortable, you should be able to do it full-speed.
i suggest you practise on your bed and then move down to the floor when you feel ready, please be careful! :]
good luck!

well when you faint...dont fall straight down...like a log...
just make your legs like jelly and fall like that...it makes it more real and less painful
