The International Cricket Council (ICC) named a full time Elite Umpires Panel in March 2002, consisting of the eight leading umpires in the world. In April 2003, this panel was increased to 11 umpires. These umpires are contracted to the ICC.
Two umpires from this panel stand in all Test matches and one member stands with a home umpire for one-day internationals matches.

The Elite Panel of ICC Umpires is a panel of cricket umpires appointed by the International Cricket Council to officiate in Test matches and One-day Internationals around the world.

The current members of ICC Elite Panel of Umpires are:

1) Mark Benson - England
2) Billy Bowden - New Zealand
3) Steve Bucknor - West Indies
4) Aleem Dar - Pakistan
5) Billy Doctrove - West Indies
6) Daryl Harper - Australia
7) Darrell Hair - Australia (banned from umpiring matches involving test nations)
8) Rudi Koertzen - South Africa
9) Asad Rauf - Pakistan
10) Simon Taufel - Australia
