If I change my name and have a felony will the felony follow my new name. I want to change it so I can get a better job and not have to worry about the felony showing up. Its been more the 7 years but still I cant get a good job just temp work. Anyone know how to do that? for Texas and what steps to do

Okay so I go change my SSN and DL. Then will they still know that the DMV that I have changed my name and I have a felony?

Yep, it will follow you, because you don't change your driver's license number or social security number when you change your name.

Yes, it will still follow you. You can't just change your SSN, you have to have a real reason to, like someone's fraudulently using it, and even then it's very hard to do, near to impossible. The government that's keeping tabs on your felony is the same government that's going to be giving you a new number, your felony will not be overlooked.

It's on your record, there's nothing you can do but ask for it to be expunged, and they probably won't do that.

you cant run away from your past actions by changing your name. the government still knows it is you (SS #).
